FAMILY NIGHT This is a big reminder to all parents that Family Night is coming up on Wednesday, July 21 from 6pm until 8pm. Parents will participate in the first three periods of their child's daily activities. After the three 20 minute periods are over, we will be having one of our super energized and exciting spirit rallies! We can't wait to see all of you moms, dads, grandmothers, grandfathers, cousins, aunts, and uncles next Wednesday. Don't forget your spirit! THE SOUND OF MUSIC This past Thursday the Seniors, Grads, and Alumni performed the play The Sound of Music. The flawless show created an enormous buzz throughout camp. The audience was captivated and were bobbing their heads along with the awesome singing and dancing. Congratulations to the cast, you all did great!
SUPERFLY FM CKGA 104.9 Superfly FM is THE radio station to listen to at camp. Not only can you hear your favourite tunes throughout the day but DJ's Mitchy B and 2legit are constantly having campers participate in contests like Name That Tune, Finish the Lyrics, and Musical Chairs. Each player has the chance to take home their very own Camp Green Acres or Superfly paraphanalia. Also, keep your ears perked for birthday shoutouts, sports updates, and weather forecasts.

CAMP BY NIGHT This past Monday and Tuesday the camp day did not end at 4 o'clock for the boys in Bears, Eagles, Seniors, and Grads. Overnights are always a highlight for campers AND staff as they participate in an evening of activities all the way until lights out. The Grad boys went down the waterslides and enjoyed a tractor ride before settling down around the campfire. "My favourite part was making the s'mores and hanging out with my friends," Jordane from Cabin 88 said. Eagle boys; Russell, Matthew, Robbie, and Sam from Cabin 54 agreed with Jordane, adding in that they had the best time doing a scavenger hunt. The Eagles theme for the evening was Spy Night, where they trained to learn spy techniques. Senior boys enjoyed a superhero program and the Bears did pod racing and had a light saber match during their Star Wars evening. The Beavers extended night took place this past Wednesday. Everyone had a great time participating in Dora and Diego's Safari Adventure. The campers went on a safari dig, a safari ride, and got the chance to make their very own animal masks!
WORLD CUP SOCCER The World Cup may be over in South Africa but it has just begun here at Green Acres! This upcoming Wednesday is one of the most exciting days at camp! Campers will join their own soccer team, representing a country, and will compete in different games to determine the ultimate World Cup champions. We encourage all campers to bring their loudest voices on Wednesday because we want to hear all of you cheering your hardest for your team! The morning will be filled with team bonding and team building and we absolutely cannot wait. The ten different countries that will be represented by our awesome campers are: Switzerland, Denmark, Greece, Algeria, Chile, Ghana, Netherlands, and Uruguay.

HEALTH TIP OF THE WEEK This week our great nurses are reminding all campers and staff to eat healthy! Just as important as staying hydrated, eating properly can positively affect your body by giving you energy and keeping you positive. Michelle, Jenn, and Audrey recommend that parents ensure their campers lunches include snacks from the four important food groups. Try to avoid sugary treats and pack plenty of fresh fruit because it is filled with water and can help keep your child hydrated as well as give your child a natural energy boost that will last longer throughout the day!
