Philosophy The goal of our summer adventure is for each camper to have a fun, safe and memorable summer. We would like each camper to grow in knowledge, self-respect and self-esteem, skill development, leadership and co-operation in a fun, safe and spirited community; and to provide our staff with the opportunities to develop leadership skills in a supportive work environment. While we promote spirited participation, we carefully avoid excessive competition, and we emphasize personal pride and accomplishment. Our staff are trained to help our campers discover their abilities and reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment. All our programs are run on a challenge by choice system, ensuring that campers stay within their comfort zones and have the opportunities to reach new heights without pressures. Our camp community is a place for children to grow as individuals. We provide a setting where our campers can feel safe about accepting challenges and reaching beyond self imposed limits. We teach campers about social responsibility and being good citizens. With our directors and staff as role models, our campers take home character values that will stay with them throughout their lives. Award Winning Day Camp So successful is our summer camp that Green Acres is recognized as a leader in the field of camping. Green Acres has been honoured with the prestigious Entrepreneurship Award and the Community Relations and Cultural Enrichment Award from the Markham Board of Trade.
