14-15 Leadership Training Program (LTP)
LTPs are those students who are in Grade 8 and Grade 9. Our Leadership Training Program prepares these campers for leadership roles both at camp and in their communities. The LTP must spend a minimum of four weeks at camp. During this time, the LTP will work with their peers at developing leadership skills and learning from our staff mentors.
Under the supervision of the LTP Co-ordinator, our LTPs spend each week in a different placement at camp. Placements can be taken with a cabin group of children in any unit, at All-Star Sports, MyCamp, Saddle Champs Riding, or at a specialty area of Traditional camp (ie. Recording, Swim, Woodworking etc). At the end of each week, an informal evaluation takes place. At the end of the four week session, each LTP will receive a formal evaluation from their Co-ordinator.
There is a special out of camp trip planned for the LTPs in week 1 and week 5. For two nights and three days, our LTPs will enjoy the wonders of a nearby Ontario provincial parks and learn valuable leadership and cooperative skills to prepare them for the Leadership Training Program.
LTPs are expected to abide by the camp dress policy and to assist their staff both at camp and on the bus.
