Employment

We are a country day camp for kids & teens ages 3 to 15 years and are hiring camp staff to share a great summer of fun with us. During the camp season, daily transportation to the camp is provided from the following areas - Toronto, North York, Thornhill, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Scarborough and Vaughan. In addition, camp bus service is available from certain areas in Ajax, Pickering, Whitby and Woodbridge.

THREE EASY STEPS TO BOOK AN INTERVIEW

1. Download our Staff Application Form, print and complete the form in full. If you are a returning staff from last summer you must print and complete the Returning Staff Application Form. Please be aware that you must at least be completing Grade 10 to be considered for a junior staff position at Green Acres.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader?
Click here to download it if you don't.

2. Call 905-887-1400 between 9:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday and ask for an interview. Appointments are available from 10:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 10:30am to 3:00pm on Friday. Please note that we do not interview on weekends.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE CAMP OFFICE FOR YOUR INTERVIEW. Please make sure you have arranged for your own transportation to the camp office. Our address is 11123 Kennedy Road in Markham. We are located 3km North of Major Mackenzie Drive on the east side of Kennedy. Check out our location map of the camp.

3. Bring the COMPLETED Staff Application Form (Returning Staff Application Form for returning staff) to your interview. A resume is helpful, but is not a requirement.

Other Important Information

All swim staff must have the following qualifications:

    a) a Life Saving Bronze Cross Certification or NLS and,
    b) a Red Cross Swim Kids Instructor Certification.

Life Saving Swim Instructor Certification, NLS, CPR, and First Aid are desireable but not mandatory. The camp office must receive photocopies of all your valid certifications no later than June 1, 2008.

It's not necessary for a potential staff member to have had any previous camp experience. Love, sensitivity and care for the well-being of children are the most important assets we look for in an applicant.
